netflix

I found it strange how viral the the list of movies that Netflix was taking down for it’s streaming got. For a regular Netflix user, this is normal. Sure, some great movies are taken down forever, but some are just gone for a little bit. That’s just how it goes.

But, as much as Netflix has taken away, they always replace it equally great stuff.

As I woke up on this fine New Years day of 2014, I saw that Netflix added or re-uploaded some FANTASTIC movies.

So, as you mourn the loss of Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind and Do the Right Thing, see what new gifts they have given you.

Big Trouble in Little China

Amelie

Raging Bull

West Side Story

Planes, Trains and Automobiles

Breakfast at Tiffany’s

Play it again, Sam

Narc

Some Like it Hot

The Virgin Suicides

The Day the Earth Stood Still (the ORIGINAL 1951 film)

The Talented Mr. Ripley

American Psycho

Grand Canyon

The Grapes of Wrath

Escape from Alcatraz

What’s Eating Gilbert Grape

The Apartment

The Apartment is my personal favorite inclusion. I love this Billy Wilder film. Jack Lemmon is just wonderful in this and you will fall madly in love in Shirley Maclaine.

But even outside of that, this is a great list of movies, with even more that I didn’t mention!

If you’re starting your New Year by relaxing and catching a movie at home, you got plenty of choices still on Netflix’s VAST selection.
