A new Avengers: Age of Ultron trailer just arrived.
While there’s isn’t a HUGE amount of new footage (it’s actually shorter then the teaser trailer…which…makes no sense in all honesty.) there’s still plenty to see to get excited about.
They are very much pushing that this is a much darker film then last time.
As of now, there has been no humor in the two trailers, and unlike a certain underwhelming trailer for another Marvel movie, this isn’t a worry.
Joss Whedon is known for getting his characters into tough situations, pushing them both psychically and mentally. While we know the film will clearly have humor (like the now infamous hammer lifting scene.) the trailers want us to know this one means business.
So far, Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver have not sad a word in these trailers and makes me believe we might get ONE MORE trailer before May.
Once again, I love the music choice in this one, and while it’s not as iconic as the twisted version of “I have no Strings.” from the last trailer, it’s still pretty haunting.
There are a few shots I wanna bring up though.
Who is this? I can’t quiet tell myself, but I think this one is worth noting.
This was taken from the highly anticipated Hulk VS Iron Man in Hulkbuster armor fight. Some folks have theorized that Iron Man might have no control in the scene, but clearly in this shot we see that there is something very wrong with the Hulk. Maybe he’s being manipulated. It’s pretty scary to see the green guy with blood shot red eyes.
This trailer was much shorter then I thought we were going to get, but there’s still some pretty cool stuff in here. I’m sure we might get another trailer before May, one that’s much longer. Maybe we’ll hear the twins finally talk, or maybe get some more Hawkeye scenes. But, even if we don’t, this is still a pretty solid trailer for a movie that I clearly was going to see already. Hell, the trailer they could just be Joss Whedon going in front of the camera and telling me the release date and I’d still be excited for this movie.
Avengers: Age of Ultron will be out May 1, 2015.
