Back last year, I did a Dreamcasting for the next Fast and Furious film and pitched the ideas of bringing in Helen Mirren and Keanu Reeves.

Well…ONE of those two dreams ended up happening.

In an interview with ELLE magazine, Mirren announced that she WILL show up in the next Fast and Furious film!

In the interview they bring up…

“How does this film fit in with what you want to be doing in your career overall?

It fits in very, very well with what I want to be doing. I want to be making film and theater, but film is particularly relevant. I like it to be serious. Of course, having said that I’m about to do Fast and Furious 8. But that’s for the fun of it. So maybe that’s what I want as well, some fun and some relevant, serious, important movies.

So you are confirmed to be in ‘Fast 8’?

Yes, I am.”

Well hot diggity dog! Granted, the casting seemed inevitable.

Both her and Vin Diesel were very vocal about wanting her for the next film, so it shouldn’t have been a surprised that it ended up happening.

No confirmation as to who she will be playing, if she’s a good guy or a bad guy, or if they are gonna do what I pitched in my article and have her be the mother of the Shaw brothers.

We’ll see…now….I think I’m gonna try tweeting Vin Diesel to see if he’s down for my Keanu Reeves idea…..
